On The Wandering Paths

On The Wandering Paths

Dennis Imbert’s 2022 film adapted from Sylvain Tesson’s novel ‘Sur les chemins noirs’ centres on esteemed yet alcoholic writer Pierre, played by Jean Dujardin. Having recently sufferd from a coma following a fall, Pierre decides to take charge of his life and go on a contemplative solo hike across France using the old forgotten paths. His journey takes him from Provence to Mont Saint Michel through some of France’s most rugged and beautiful landscapes. The film features many panoramic views, highlighting the natural beauty of France.

Based on real events, this escape from the frantic world, is a story of fortitude, healing, resilience, and reconnection to nature and deep self.
